The Yodo River, which flows into Osaka Bay, is the largest in the Osaka district. Though it streams through urban areas, there remain various biotopes such as reed fields with rare plants, remnants of artificial pond-like structures so-called WANDO, and estuarine tidal flats abundant in crab and shellfish. In Osaka, not just a few species limited to this area can be found are along the Yodo River.
